Infrared Camera Survey
An infrared survey of a building envelope is generally conducted to detect latent moisture, to locate structural components, or to detect excess energy loss. Detectable problems with building envelopes include conductive energy loss due to inadequate or damaged insulation, convective energy loss from air infiltration, and deterioration due to moisture intrusion. The Infrared Survey Report communicates the information to the client through visual and thermal images and written documentation. The data may be used for quality assurance inspections of new installations, repairs, or retrofits.
The thermographer will perform a non-invasive infrared survey of the readily accessible and applicable areas of the building envelope using natural and infrared photography. The Infrared Survey Report will document areas with abnormal surface temperatures requiring further investigation.
